This week, as part of their understanding of the digestive system, Foxes and Crickets have been learning about teeth. First, we discussed why we have two sets of teeth, then we compared how many teeth adults and children have. We enjoyed using mirrors to count how many teeth we each had and realised that some of us have already got some of our adult teeth!

Next, we learnt about the different types of teeth that we have and what each type of tooth does.. We discussed how the incisors cut and shovel food, how the canines rip and tear food and also how the molars grind food to make it easy to swallow.

We had lots of fun and can’t wait to learn about how our food is digested. Watch this space for an exciting demonstration about the digestive system.
