On Thursday September 15th, we celebrated our 15th Birthday!

All the children from both sites at Hilperton and Wingfield were joined by families and friends to mark our 15th year at The Mead.

Our day started with a powerful song led by our own school choir, which got us in the mood to celebrate. Mrs Bolton shared with us her feelings about our wonderful school and how proud she is about how the school has grown and developed over the years.

Ironically we were  lucky enough to be joined by a local author Stewart Foster who could also remember the school being built. He told us an amazing story about ‘Bubble Boy’ which had us all wanting to know more!

Our special surprise was the release of 15 white doves to celebrate each year. Members of staff and children with September birthdays were given this honour. The doves stole the show, pausing before flying to see all the children and then waiting for their friends before flying back home!.

Miss Holton concluded the celebration by expressing her feelings on her wonderful school, but most importantly praising all the amazing children who make it special.

After the celebration we all enjoyed a lovely piece of birthday cake and received a wonderful 15th birthday badge to keep. Our enormous thanks  go to ‘The Friends of the Mead’ for organising this wonderful event.
