On Friday 16th June, sixteen children from Year 5 and 6 took part in the West Wilts Kwick Cricket competition, which took place at Trowbridge Cricket Club. With the sun shining it was a perfect day for cricket! The Mead had two teams entered in the event and in the group stages both teams did brilliantly. The A-team beat Bitham Brooke B and Mere but lost to Holt. Similarly, the B-team won two matches against Winsley and Bellefield, but lost against Bitham Brooke A.

In the play-offs, the two Mead teams played each other! After a good natured but competitive game, the A-team came away with a victory and went on to compete in the semi-finals, which they lost closely to Paxcroft.

All of the children played in the spirit of the game, showing great respect for umpires and other players. They were a real credit to the school. Thanks also to all the parents who came to support us and cheer us on!
