As part of our topic, Robins, Newts and Kingfishers have been learning all about Stonehenge and last week we visited the world famous monument. As well as a tour around the stones whilst battling the elements, the children took part in various workshops including building Stonehenge using small stone replicas, dressing up as Neolithic and Bronze Age people and investigating how they could have moved the stones and put them into place. We learnt about the landscape around Stonehenge and about how the people would have lived- we even went in an ancient hut! We also visited the museum, where we saw skeletons from the nearby burial mounds. It was a fantastic day! Thanks to all the parents and carers who supported us on the trip.
