Over the last 12 months Mr Jon Hackett has been working towards renewing our Primary school quality mark Silver Award for Science. We are very pleased to announce that we have been re-accredited with the award! The silver mark acknowledges that the teaching, learning and profile of science is fantastic at The Mead. This has, in part, been supported by our on-going initiatives such as the weather and polli-nation projects, which are national schemes with only a handful of schools across the country taking part. This award is very exciting considering we are entering our Science and Technology Enrichment Year and we aim to enrich learning in science even further over the next 12 months
The assessor wrote “The criteria have changed since the school last was awarded silver so maintaining an award is not as easy as some people may think.”
Many congratulations to Jon on all his determination and tireless effort in securing this re-accreditation for The Mead. We are sure that everyone in the wider school community will be as delighted as we are with this wonderful news.
