With the sun shining, Hilperton site Sport Day got underway on Thursday this week. The morning activities included egg and spoon, the sack race, cricket, basketball, javelin and football to name just a few. All the children joined in with enthusiasm and great team spirit, cheering each other on and supporting one another.
Nelson Mandela house won the Sport Day cup at Key Stage One and Winston Churchill house won at Key Stage Two. Thanks to The Friends of The Mead who kindly donated two new trophies, which are now proudly displayed in the entrance hall.
After a lovely picnic lunch with our families, the track races were lots of fun. The Key Stage Two children competed in a cross country race around the school grounds before the finals of the 100m sprints for each class. The nursery children also had a go running down the track. To finish the day, we all had a laugh with the adults doing the three-legged egg and spoon race!
Thank you to everyone who came and supported the day, it was wonderful to see so many people there enjoying themselves.
