Year 2 had a wonderful time visiting Westonbirt Arboretum this week, especially as we were extremely lucky with the weather!
We had lots of fun carrying out a variety of outdoor activities. We particularly enjoyed collecting different types of leaves, which we then used to create a whole class natural sculpture inspired by The Great Fire of London. We also had lots of fun creating natural sculptures in the style of the artist Andy Goldsworthy.
After lunch, we enjoyed having some ‘free time’ to catch leaves and play ‘stuck in the mud’. Luckily, no one actually got stuck in the mud- although we did enjoy jumping in and out of the squelchy piles of leaves! Pine Martens decided they were going to be very brave and had a fabulous time on the Sky Walk with their heads at treetop level! Overall, it was a fabulous day and we would like to say a big thank you to all of the parent helpers who accompanied us to the Arboretum.
