In Maths, Foxes and Crickets have been learning their times tables.
First, we learnt the six times table. We looked at images of flowers which had been put into groups of six, then discussed how this represented the six times table. The next session, we moved on to learning the seven times table. Lots of us found it really helpful to put cubes into groups of seven when we solved calculations.
Finally, we talked about how we could use times tables which we already know to help us find out those which we don’t. For example, we agreed that if 7 x 10 = 70, then 7 x 11 must equal 7 more than 70.
We are looking forward to learning the 9, 11 and 12 times tables next week!
