School Meals
The philosophy at our schools is to create a sociable, friendly, supportive family environment while eating healthy food at lunch times.
Our school kitchens are committed to providing healthy, nutritious food with the aim of supporting families to provide children with a balanced and varied diet. With an emphasis on quality and value, our food is freshly prepared and where possible, we procure food that meets the following criteria:
- It is sourced or produced locally
- It comes from sustainable sources or ethical suppliers
- Meat is Farm Assured
- We do not use any undesirable additives or hydrogenated fats
All our children eat their lunch in the main hall over two sittings. Our Nursery and Reception children eat first. Over the lunch period the older children have responsibilities to lead, interact and support the younger children with table manners, providing drink refills, help with clearing up, etc.
In KS2, children can bring their own healthy packed lunch or pay to have a hot school dinner, which needs to be booked in advance. Our hot school dinners are freshly prepared on site each day by our Catering Team.
Our menu changes at least every 2nd term to ensure we offer seasonal variations. Our menus are child friendly and a typical weekly menu may include a roast dinner, a fish day, homemade pizza and pasta bolognaise. A non-meat option is available daily and a dessert. All meals are supplemented with salad and bread. Water is freely available. Meals are priced at £2.70.

Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM)
The Government initiative for Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM) was implemented in 2014, offering a free hot meal for all children under the age of seven (KS1). This initiative provides valuable funding to our school and therefore we encourage you to take full advantage of this offer.
Pupil Premium
The Government provides funding to schools to support children from lower income families do their very best. This funding is known as Pupil Premium. Our school is able to claim £1,385 funding per pupil that is registered.
If your joint family income is £16,190 or less and / or you are in receipt of specific benefits, then we encourage you to register. For every family that registers their eligibility they will benefit from Free School Meals and the school will attract additional funding.
